Rescue Services

Response Action for Ice Water, Swift Water, Confined Spaces, High Angle & Act of Nature Events.

About Our Rescue Services

Rescue services are a last measure service which are important to have on site when shooting in locations which have uncontrollable factors. These are most often out in nature when scenes involve water or confined spaces such as caves. Our expert rescue team are trained specifically for these situations such as ice water rescue, swift water rescue, high angle rescue and confined space rescue.

Our rescue team works together with the water and fire safety teams, creating actions plans in the event that all pre-measures were unsuccessful. This is possible most often when out in the wild, as nature can be unpredictable and is beyond anyones control. However, by knowing this and understanding unplanned events could happen, response plans are put into place if these should arise and carried out to get everyone involved to safety.

Rescue Services | Regulators TO | FAQs

Below are some of our most frequently asked questions regarding Rescue Services in film production and events in Toronto. Please contact us with any additional questions you may have using our contact form.

  • 1. Is water safety the same as water rescue?

While they work hand in hand, they are two separate services. Water safety is about planning the shoot to reduce the risk to a minimum, while water rescue is about developing and implementing an action plan should the shoot not go to plan. Rescue operators and individuals are trained to the highest level in their profession, true experts.

  • 2. When do you recommend a rescue team or service?

In general, anytime you are shooting in a location where things are out of your control, a rescue team is highly recommended. Nature is beautiful, but powerful beyond our control, especially in water and confined spaces such as caves. Having the experienced experts on hand in case something goes wrong is always the safest way to go.

  • 3. Can your rescue team also do stunt work?

In some cases our rescue team members have or are willing to do stunt work on camera, however this is on a case by case basis. Sometimes scenes are shot in locations where true experts are needed and regular stunt professionals are not sufficient. In rare cases, a rescue team member may be able to help.
